The purpose of WOWOur aim is to ensure that the WOW database is as up-to-date, correct, extensive and detailed as is reasonably possible. However, the global travel & tourism industry is a very fast moving business, and companies are being formed and dissolved, floated and delisted, as well as acquired, merged and sold almost daily. Moreover, while we draw on a host of quality primary and secondary sources, the information gained by us is reliant upon the information released by companies and received by us. Therefore, despite our good endeavours, we cannot guarantee that the information in WOW is true and accurate. FocusWOW focuses on the global travel & tourism industry, including leisure and recreation, and excluding non-travel & tourism related transportation. As Editors, we reserve the right to include and exclude companies in WOW subject to our internal editorial criteria. Shareholders and SubsidiariesIn case of companies operating outside the travel & tourism industry (e.g. financial, TMT (technology, media & telecommunications), and transportation corporations), WOW only contains their travel & tourism industry related subsidiaries as well as other subsidiaries of relevance, and does not list their other subsidiaries. Shareholdings shown are not always a reflection of the true legal and financial holdings. Instead, where sensible, certain subsidiaries are listed as part of divisions (e.g. accommodation, aviation and distribution), while, strictly speaking, the legal and financial shareholdings do not lie with the division but with a legal entity such as a little known holding company in a tax-efficient country. The rationale for this is to show the interests of an organisation according to geographic regions and functional activities to provide you, the User, with executive information. In fact, true legal and financial shareholdings are either disclosed in company annual reports and thus are freely available, or often remain undisclosed by the companies.
